Dear members,

Despite conditions going against us at times on the golf course, we remain undeterred in our quest to return the greens to their previous quality that you all enjoyed prior to the August renovations. Please rest assured that with the Fathers & Sons/Daughters, June Monk Cup, Bank Holiday Fourball and the Pro-Am approaching in the diary, our maintenance programme, as overseen by our Master Greenkeeper consultant Greg Evans, is in full flow. 

Our very own Cottesmore couple, Faye Rabson (Health Club Manager)and Steve Grouwstra (Assistant PGA Professional) had a baby girl, Ella Ann Grouwstra, on Sunday! We wish them both all the very best of luck. 

Congratulations also to the winners of the Challis Tankard at the weekend, John Penalver and Ben Clements. This trophy was won by The Proprietor, Matthew Rogerson, and his father, Michael Rogerson, back in 1980. Following a dismal front nine score of 11 points they accumulated an astonishing 25 points on the back nine to take the trophy! John and Ben's score of 44 points in the toughest format (foursomes) is all the more impressive. 

Finally, if the rain really persists over the next few days why not consider entering the swimming challenge in the health club (10 lengths) before the end of the month to be in with a chance of driving a car around for a weekend supplied courtesy of Vines BMW?!
