Eight juniors have signed up for the Junior Members Summer Cup this Saturday and Sam will be sending out the draw on Friday for this third Order of Merit event of the year with the top three receiving shop vouchers. June's greens report
Progress has certainly been made since my last visit. This cold, dry and sunny spring has meant that getting good, even grass coverage has been a challenge but looking at the turf quality on your playing surfaces yesterday, I believe we have achieved just that. The greens are putting a lot better. Definition of your other surfaces is still not quite there.
I think that the big challenge for you has been trying to make changes to the new layout (which has been postponed to July), whilst maintaining the standard on the old layout. On a whole you have managed it but not without some frustrations and setbacks.

Summer body drinks
Drink your way to a summer body. Here's three great 'swaps' to keep your summer body looking great…
Rather than starting your day with a coffee (or worse… cappuccino or latte from a well-known coffee shop), why not save 300 calories and have a herbal tea? With a quick bit of maths, if you usually have two cups a day, you could lose 1 lb in six days by simply swapping to a herbal tea!
Many people pile on the calories at breakfast, from sugary cereals to fry-ups. But let's talk drinks. Swapping your average size glass of juice for a piece of fruit (orange or apple, for example) could save you 100 calories. Assuming you have breakfast everyday, that's 700 calories a week!
Let's face it… Alcohol doesn't help the waistline! But there are smarter options to keep that beach body. If Carlsberg made Mojitos… Well we've all seen the Carlsberg adverts, but seriously speaking, you would be saving 150 calories per drink. Imagine a normal evening out, 2-3 drinks, that's 300-450 calories saved.
I think I have been pretty fair here with the swaps. However, if you want to go a step further, lose even more weight, opt for the best and only drink you ever really need… WATER. You could lose 2 lbs in a week with just drinking water.
