Two competitions were held on Tuesday, 20 October. Griffin - Vets George Higgins Eclectic Rd 1, Stableford competition. Phoenix - Vets Reg Davey Eclectic Rd 1, Stableford competition. A good turnout of CVGS members, with a total of 57 players competing in the first rounds of the eclectic competitions. Navy Blue Cottesmore V neck jumper with the Cottesmore logo – one member wanted to buy a new one but has been advised by the Proshop they need a few orders before it is worthwhile. Let me know, by email, if you would like to add your name to the list and I will see what can be done. John Eastland - I heard last night that John Eastland had died. His daughter Sarah asked Cottesmore to let the Vets know. John had been a Vet for many years and several members will remember John. John joined CVGS in 1992 and he was a member until 2016. Born in 1931, he would have been just over 89 years old. He was CVGS Captain in 2002 and also served as chairman. Janet Rengger: Wrote a very nice thank you card. To quote “Paddy has been in contact with me regarding the Vets Captain’s Charity Challenge. I was overwhelmed at the generosity of the members and the esteem which Alan was held. Please pass on the family’s sincere thanks and gratitude. I know St Catherine’s will very much welcome the donations.” Looking forward to seeing a good turnout of CVGS members on Tuesday, 27 October for the Social Stablefords. Play safe and stay safe, Alex.
