A message from Alex... A total of thirty-four intrepid golfers took to the two courses on Tuesday, 3 March. Fine weather with lots of sunshine. The courses remain very wet underfoot and we still need more dry weather in the next two weeks. It was nice to be outside on a fine day and I am getting accustomed to carrying. If you started and finished with the same ball you probably posted a good score. Some got a bit frustrated when they hit a decent shot down the middle but could not find their ball. Probably plugged and still out on the course.
Inter Club match requirements – The CVGS match players have signed up for all of the matches. Many thanks. We now have a full complement of players for every match. Very encouraging. This leaves me with the tough job of selecting players for each match and trying to make sure everyone who has signed up is given the opportunity to play. East Brighton (AWAY match) on Thursday, 12 March 2020 is our first AWAY match this season. A team has been selected. I will shortly be selecting the team for the Banstead match which is an AWAY match on Monday, 16 March. Today’s results: - Some very good scores on very wet courses. Well done! Thanks to the Card Duty Members – Paul Cox, David Keep and Paul Twine. Thanks to the Club House Duty members – David Abbott and Roger Birchmore. Numbers playing – Griffin - 16 Phoenix – 18.
