A message from the Ladies' Captain... With a further week of course closures, I am pleased that we were able to play our final monthly Stableford qualifier on Thursday along with the final leg of the PK Trophy 9-hole competition on the Phoenix. The results of the day were:
PK Trophy Category 5 winner – Sandra Morfey with 14 points. PK Trophy Category 6 winner – Marion Hollands with 15 points. The winner of the PK Trophy is decided on a points-based scoring system, dependent upon their position each week, with the winner being the player with the most points at the end of the season. The overall winner will be announced shortly. Congratulations to Heather Skinner who was the runner up in the November Stableford with 27 points and to the winner who was me, with 30 points. Regrettably, the re-scheduled Frank Davis Cup was cancelled on Saturday after three attempts, following a further course closure due to the weather. This was a shame as it was one of the competitions available to qualify for the Ingrid Manly Order of Merit where a minimum of six competitions must be entered. The winner is the player with the highest score out of her ten best results, highlighting the steadiest player during the playing season.
With no more competitions left available to play, the overall winner will be announced shortly.
Next week:
This Thursday is the start of the Winter Aggregate 9-hole competition on the Phoenix. This runs from November through to March were a maximum of eight cards, which can be a mix of Thursdays and weekends, maybe submitted where the best four scores submitted will be aggregated per player to find the winner.
Good luck to all who will be competing in what proved to be a very popular event last year. Here’s hoping for drier weather. Jill Lady Captain
