Pro Am
Last Friday saw our annual pro-am. With 24 teams, it was the biggest pro-am we have ever had. It was also the best prize table too. The golf course was in splendid condition which help produced some of the lowest scores I have seen here.
The weather forecast was looking a little ‘iffy’ but thankfully we just had a few scattered showers. One of those showers came as we got underway at 10am. Over the next few hours all the teams out there had some ups and downs but hopefully enjoyed the day as much as I did.

My team of Martin Bolton-Smith, Craig Millyard and Steve Thomas got off to a superfast start with eagles and birdies pouring in. Thankfully our score of 21 under was enough to keep the junior team (Isaac Peate, Lucy Pigram and Ben Powell with professional Sam Smitherman) at bay. In third place was Cottesmore team, Russ Jacobs, Jake Ibrahim and Ross Davies with professional James Ford.
In the professional individual event, we had a course record of 67 shot by Giles Velvick from Horam Park. His 4 birdies, two eagles and 3 bogeys was enough to hold off the challenge of our very own Calum Callan, James Ford and Chris Croucher (all with an impressive 69).

All in all, the day was fantastic and only the start. Next year, with the clubhouse complete, I hope to grow the Pro Am to a bigger and better event. Better prizes, more teams. If you would like to enter next year’s we have entry forms in the shop now.
