Who qualified?
On Thursday and Saturday, the LGU Coronation Foursomes competition was played, where the format is Foursomes stableford with half combined handicap allowance. The overall winner of the combined Thursday and weekend competitions qualifies for the regional final. The leaders on Thursday were Brenda Williams and Ruth Leatherbarrow with 37 points. The weekend pairs fought it out to see if they could improve upon their score, but were not able to, and so Brenda and Ruth were the overall winners.
Well done ladies.

Good run continues...
Friday our division 2 team played Goodwood and had a convincing 6 – 1 win, continuing a good run by all our division teams. Well done, ladies.
Division 1 play Willingdon at home on Wednesday and Singing Hills on Saturday, also at home.

Nothing but praise...
On Monday we hosted a Charity Coffee Morning where ladies from other clubs could play our course in a fun day. It was very well supported with 76 ladies entering. All the ladies were very complimentary about the course and gave nothing but praise for the welcome and friendliness of our lady members who helped on the day. My thanks go to you, whether it was flag duty, ball spotting, registration, manning the halfway house or donating such wonderful cakes.
Your support made for a very successful day which also raised just under £800 for my charity which included donations for the halfway house and a raffle. Fantastic. My thanks also go to Ben and his team for the excellent condition of the course and to Will and Alysha for their help with the food.

Warm and sunny conditions greeted those teeing off in the latest round of the Haig and Lanka trophies. With the course looking great and playing well good scores were anticipated and so it proved to be.

A stern test...
Cottesmore came through a stern test in the latest match against Mid Sussex who provided tough opposition when they visited last Friday. However in a keenly fought match Cottesmore emerged on top by 5 to 3, maintaining the unbeaten start which now stretches to a third of the fixture season. Top performers of the day were Chris Adamson and Steve Watson with a 6 and 5 victory.

Cottesmore Seniors Open - Tuesday July 2nd Our seniors open has streams for both visitors and home players. Any Cottesmore member aged 55 and over can enter the home stream. If you wish to enter please sign up and pay on the CVGS website below. The cost of entry is £32 and includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival, a two course quality buffet after the round, and a charitable donation to the CVGS Captain's Charity - Chestnut Tree House. The format of the competition is individual stableford played on the Griffin Course with tee times starting at 9:00.
