A word from the General Manager
Dear Members,
We have had terrific feedback from members on the introduction of the new Technogym equipment. The common theme is that it offers a much wider range of exercises helping to increase levels of fun and fitness. If you still need to create an account please see the info from the Health Club in the Newsletter which will take you through the process. I promise you it is easy and of course one of the staff will be happy to help create that account with you if required.
For balance though I must mention and apologise for the temperature issues we had in the steam room and the pool last week. I am happy to say that both issues have been resolved and normal temperatures have resumed.
On the golf side of things, we have Greg's last report of the year which details our winter works programme. It is not exhaustive but never the less give a good idea of where our focus lays. Click here to read this report.
I have also been asked to reiterate the fact that we provide all 5 & 7 day Members with golf insurance cover and I have attached a copy of the details of that cover - click here. If you wish to upgrade that cover by all means approach Golfguard directly.
The weather looks much improved for the weekend so enjoy!
Kind regards,
Matthew Hazelden
General Manager
If you have not yet used our new Technogym equipment, it's really simple to start. You can go online to create an account at www.mywellness.com or speak to a member of the Health Club team and register in the Health Club.
Total Calorie Burn: Men vs Women
The latest on our Technogym challenge… The women are now into their stride and after a slow start have taken the lead. With just over two weeks remaining and the women looking strong, is there any way back for the men? Remember, you can log any exercise you do in or outside of the Health Club and the calories will be automatically added to the challenge total score.
If you are unsure how to register/create an account or sign up to the challenge, speak to a member of the Health Club team. When using the Technogym software you can track your training and progress and see who's moving the most week by week (see picture above). This is great motivation to improve upon your own results from the week or month before or to compare yourself to others to increase your calorie burn or moves completed!
Wedding Open Evening - Wednesday 22nd October
We are opening our doors to give you the chance to view our Challis and Barn rooms set up for a wedding ceremony and reception for 50 guests.
See how enchanted our function rooms can look as darkness falls; lit up with fairy lights, candelabras and candles.
Perfect when considering a winter wedding or to see how the room can look as day fades into night for your spring or summer evening reception. Jackie and Lesley will be on hand to talk you through our wedding packages and Jenni, from the company 'All Blewn Up', will be here to advise you on venue decorating. From simplistic touches to full ceiling draping and swagging, she will have something to suit all budgets.
No appointment necessary, just drop in anytime from 4.30pm to 8.30pm. Enjoy a free glass of bubbly and nibbles after work. I look forward to seeing you there!
Kind regards
Jackie Levers
Events Manager
Poppy Appeal Scramble
This year's Poppy Appeal Scramble will be taking place on Monday, 10th November. It is open to teams of three, either all-men, all-ladies or mixed. There will be prizes for each category, and a raffle on the day. Entry is £5 per player and sign-up sheets are on the various notice boards around the club. You can enter either a team or as an individual where you will be put into an available team. Donations for prizes or the raffle would be gratefully received by Paddy Dowser, Alan Rengger or David Abbott.
As the Junior Academy continues to grow, our 'Elite Team' (Josh Dance, Egor Zotov, Josh Greig, Richard Bailey, Connor Barnes and Jay Eggleton (not pictured)) have received their team outfits and Calum is now planning to put an A team together and a Futures team (under 9s) together to ensure that those talented players who are dedicated to the sport receive all the assistance that they need.
As we speak both Egor (13) and Josh Dance (12) are in the Sussex Under 14s squad with Josh Greig (10) in the Sussex under 13s set up. Both Richard Bailey (12) and Connor Barnes (14) positions within the county set up are still to be confirmed, though both are on the radar.
Calum's goal of feeding County and eventually National junior teams is materialising though there is still a long journey ahead. Well done to all the boys for their successes this year and I can speak for the whole club when I say that we look forward to your future successes with 'Cottesmore' on your chest.
Winter Rules now in Place - due to all the recent rain it seems fair to now have winter rules in place until further notice.
