After the 'Miracle at Medinah', I doubt if there has been a more anticipated Ryder Cup than this one. The Americans hurt so badly two years ago that they passed word to the Europeans for them not to pop in to their team room after the event (Past tradition has always been that the winning team pop in and share memories with the losing team after the match). It just hurt too much. That memory will still be there and they will never be hungrier for revenge.
There is a big part of me that believes that their Captain, the legendary Tom Watson, will bring the best out of his players and I would not be surprised if he had his team winning Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3. His experience and status within the game of golf are so great that he will add to each and every one of his players. Then I look at the teams and I think 'No Way'.
One thing is for sure - expect the unexpected and ENJOY! For those that do not have SKY at home to watch it - pop up to the club, watch it on the big screen and share the drama with us……… and I can assure you we will also have it on SKY GO in the Pro Shop.
I look forward to seeing you at the club over the weekend,
Calum.

We all knew it would happen but maybe just not quite as soon. Congratulations to Josh Dance in winning the Junior Club Championship. Josh has had a great year, reducing his handicap to 14, being a regular in the Sussex under 13's squad and now scoring 84 in the Junior Club Championship off the back plates. We also all know that there is so much more to come. Well done Josh, keep practicing, keep learning and we all look forward to seeing you win much much more.
Congratulations also to Connor Barnes who, for a couple of years, now has been a driving range specialist and never living up to his ability on the golf course. Well a nett 62 last weekend saw him become the Junior Nett Campion. A gross 90 is way and above his best score to date in competition. Some are saying the change is due to his new custom fitted driver but the truth is Connor had this round in him all along and again there are so many more in him.
Well done to both boys we all look forward to seeing your progress in the coming years.
