Arrangements for our Seniors Charity Open
Despite the devastating fire which destroyed a significant proportion of our Clubhouse, our Open organizing committee has put together a day that we hope all those taking part can enjoy. We are naturally hoping for fine weather as covered space at Cottesmore is in short supply. The Registration desk and Raffle sales at Cottesmore will be in the large ‘igloo’ like structure adjacent to the 1st tee. We will be asking you to confirm your meal preference at registration. Coffee and biscuits will be available. The Pro Shop will be functioning as normal with a supply of bottled drinks and the normal range of golf equipment can be purchased. In terms of play, we are running: * Nearest the Pin prizes on the Par 3 3rd, 12th and 17th * Nearest the Pin in two on the Par 4 5th and Par 4 16th * Double your Money on the Par 3 7th * Longest Drive (on the fairway) on the Par 5 14th
There will be a refreshment gazebo by the 7th Green and 15th tee with a supply of cold water, cordials, savouries and cakes. After Play we are availing ourselves of the hospitality of a nearby Pub/restaurant, The Black Swan. We know that parking at the Pub will be a challenge. There are around 50 spaces but some of these will be used by pub regulars as we cannot have exclusive use. Therefore, we are asking you to arrange to buddy share a car between Cottesmore and the Pub. Please take your signed Scorecard with you to the Black Swan and hand it in to the scorers on arrival. Clearly dress is golf gear as there are no changing facilities at the Pub. As you arrive at the Pub, please hand your signed, completed cards to our scorers who will be immediately on your right as you enter. The Bar is easy to find. We will be using the restaurant area toward the back of the Pub where you can order your food through the pub staff. Please quote your table number to the staff so that your food is delivered directly to you. Completed, signed cards will be entered into a scoring system in the Black Swan where we intend to have a Leaderboard on display. The Raffle prizes will also be ready for collection so please have your tickets ready to check against the drawn numbers.
Representatives from the Captain’s Charity, Chestnut Tree House, will be there and they would be delighted to tell you more about the good work they do and what funds raised go toward. We are planning on Prize giving to be between around 4:00 and 4:30.
