He's back!
This week sees the return of (in my opinion) the greatest golfer of all time. Yes, he is only playing in The Hero world Challenge which is hosted by himself and features only 18 players, but I still get excited at the thought of seeing Tiger woods strutting his stuff on the fairways. Over the last few years his decline has been significant and very well publicized but I would rather remember him as the player that dominated the game with such an aura. Here is a few stats that is quite ridiculous in today’s modern game… - Tiger spent an astonishing 683 weeks at world number one.
- He made an incredible 142 consecutive cuts between 1998-2005
- From 2002-05, Woods had 1,540 putts from 3 feet and in on the PGA Tour. He only missed three of them.
- Tiger is the only player since World War II to win a PGA Tour event four straight years. He did it two different times.
- Tiger has won five straight PGA Tour starts three different times. Over the last 60 years, he is the only player to do it once.
He will never do anything like the above again but here’s hoping he shows glimpses of his past this week. P.S. My tip for the week is Patrick Reed.
