Dear Members
This week sees the start of some extensive greens maintenance on the Phoenix course greens over the coming weeks. This is essential if we are to get the Phoenix to the standard required for our golf business.
Over the last two years the Griffin course has undergone significant improvements to course conditioning. Member and visitor feedback has in the main been very complimentary in this area and now we want to do the same for The Phoenix. The Phoenix needs to be a product that will entice more members to play it, give visitors an obvious reason to return and make it difficult for Golfbreaks to come to a conclusion which course they prefer to play, something which currently proves no challenge for them. If we achieve this we believe the Phoenix will become a much greater asset to the business and offer something truly enticing for all our golf customers.
The works are to take place initially on the inner 9 greens and are expected to take a week to complete and three further weeks to recover. After the work is completed on each green the green will be re-opened immediately bar 3 greens which we need to do more to, these 3 will be closed for a one month period whilst the recovery takes place and temporary greens will be in operation.
As a result of these works we may see a little more golf on the Griffin as we try to offer the best experience we can to those members and visitors who would have been booked on the Phoenix over the coming weeks. Please bare with us whilst we undertake these works we are confident that the results in the medium to long term will benefit all members.
Benefits of a better Phoenix:
- If we deliver excellence in conditioning then the Phoenix offers the member a real choice with added value
- Better feedback, stronger business performance, greater investment possible in the whole business.
- Greater kudos
- We're only as strong as our weakest link!
- Forms the foundation of Golflite our flexible membership
- Offers something our competition cannot
- The Phoenix provides a step on our pathway to golf helping us be the go to venue to learn golf and integrate successfully into the Club
- A real alternative for members when corporate golfdays are booked, something our competitors cannot provide.
