Congratulations to 12-year-old Josh Greig who again beat the men for one of their major trophies. Josh won the Spring Meeting last Sunday with nett scores of 73 and 66 to squeeze past Alex Burton on countback (pictured here with their trophies).
There were some great scores in the two-day event and none more so that Greg Lewis's nett 65 on Saturday, but it was Jake Peate's gross 73 on Sunday which won the scratch and Josh's 66 that were the talk in the clubhouse.
Last week was the Ladies Coronation Foursomes and on Thursday Margaret Swatman and Catherine Malins won with 37 points, just nudging Jenny Frei and Christine Knight into second place with their 36 points from Sunday. If Margaret and Catherine's score is in the top 100 in the Region then they will play in the Regional Final at East Brighton on 25th July. Fingers crossed.
Also last Thursday, Iona McKean played in the EWGA Medal Regional Qualifier at Blackmoor GC and came 13th out of some 120 competitors. Iona's score of 75 was three-over-par, on a day when only two ladies scored under par. Well done, Iona.
