May I wish you all a very happy New Year from myself and all of the team at Cottesmore. I hope 2016 is packed full of promise for everyone and we look forward to seeing you at Cottesmore soon to revitalise yourselves following the festive period.
All the very best,

Exercise of the Week - Cable kick backs
The main muscle this exercise works is your glutes.
1. Hook the ankle cuff to the cable machine, located with all other attachments and then attach it to your ankle
2. Face the machine with a distance of about two feet; hold the steel frame for support
3. While keeping your knees and hips bent slightly and your core engaged, contract your glutes to slowly "kick" the working leg back as high as you can go. Now slowly bring your working leg forward, resisting the pull of the cable until you return back to the starting position.
Tip - At full extension, ensure you squeeze your glutes for at least a second in order to achieve a peak contraction.
Exercises Classes
All classes have now started along with two new classes fresh for 2016. On Tuesday evenings, between 7:40pm and 8:40pm, we have added a stretch and tone combo class which consists of flexibility and strengthening exercises for all ages. This will be with our instructor Viv Smith. Along with this, Run Club is going ahead on Saturdays between 10am and 11am with Faye Rabson. Please put your name down at reception if you want to attend this week's class.
Gym Challenge - Move it to Lose it
Join one of the teams in our January gym challenge. The winner is the team who accumulates the most 'Moves' in the gym before the 31st January.
Not much golf has been played with the courses closed since Tuesday, 29 December. The rest will do the course well but goodness it would be nice to get out there! During this time you may be aware that the greenkeepers have been hard at work clearing out trees etc. There has been a massive clear-out to the 2nd on the Griffin and work is currently being attended to on the 4th Griffin. Not only will these areas encourage airflow to the course but should also assist considerably to speed of play.
Happy New Year to you all from your Captains and all in the Golf Shop. We all hope that you have a great golfing year. The Captains are looking forward to hosting many events that we have for you (fixture lists are available in the golf shop or sales office), the professionals are all looking forward to assisting you with your game and Calum and Sam have much planned for the juniors.
